Class Descriptions

Tiny Dreamers Ages 18 months - 2 years
Tiny Dreamer's is a fun introduction to dance, singing and movement for ages 18 months to 2 years. This class is 45 minutes, consisting of 30 minutes teacher-led and 15 minutes of free play. This class requires the involvement of one or two adults to help guide the children throughout the class. Children are encouraged to express themselves and embrace their childlike tendencies for this introduction to dance!

Creative Dance Ages 2 - 3

Creative movement is designed to introduce students to the dance class room using music, movement, imagery and props to teach classroom skills, coordination, balance and strength.  Parents are welcome to watch all classes and may be asked to participate to help guide students as needed.

Special Dreamers
Special Dreamers is our all inclusive dance class for students of all abilities.  This class is designed to introduce students to the dance class room using music, movement, and props to teach classroom skills, coordination, balance and strength.  Parents are asked to participate to help guide students as needed along with our volunteer teacher assistants.

Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms and will maximize technique and longevity in a career of dance. It provides grace, poise, and technique needed to be proficient in all other areas of dance. Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence. 

Pointe
This class is by invitation only.  Students are required to take 2 ballet classes in addition to their pointe class.

Hip Hop
Hip Hop incorporates a variety of old and new urban dance styles. The dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip hop music. Hip hop dancing is very dynamic and helps the dancers improve flexibility develop body balance, and coordination. All classes use age appropriate movement and music.

Lyrical
This class is a combination of ballet and jazz that challenges dancers to use choreography and movement to interpret music and express emotion. Dancers learn to express emotions derived from lyrics to convey the dance’s meaning.

Contemporary
Contemporary combines ballet and modern techniques with musical and emotional expression with a strong focus on modern techniques (contractions and release, off-center balances and suspension) as well as musicality and self-expression.

Jazz
Jazz dance is an exploration of style and presentation. Classes emphasize musicality and body alignment, conditioning, stretch and strengthening, rhythm and stylization as well as fun and innovative choreography.

Tap
Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement.

Acro
Our Acro classes are based off the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum.  The program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling.  Developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, hand balancing and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program.  Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!  

Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre is a jazz-based class filled with Broadway style dancing and music. Classes incorporate the style of dance one would typically see on a Broadway stage. This form of dancing emphasizes learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions. 

Latin Fusion
A Latin Fusion class incorporates elements of the favorites of the Dance Studio world and the Social/ Latin Dance world. Latin Fusion combines styles taught at dance studios, such as Jazz, or Hip Hop dance with Latin/ Ballroom styles, such as Salsa, Bachata, Samba, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Jive, etc. The class focuses on the technique and syllabus steps of each Latin/Ballroom style, which is then reinforced through fun choreography fusing each with a studio style.

Movement Fundamentals
Movement Fundamentals is an extension of the hip hop class- focuses on groove, flow, isolations, popping, ticking, reactivity, movement dynamics, control, and musicality through freestyle movement and drills.
